What this is

Most people need to merge, split or shrink a PDF a handful of times a year — usually because a form, a mailbox or a colleague has refused something. Installing software for that is disproportionate, and the free tools that do exist tend to gate the useful parts behind a signup or stamp a watermark across the result.

These tools do the job and hand back the file. No account, no email address, no watermark, no upsell at the download step.

How it works

Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to cloud storage, processed by our service, and offered back as a download. It is deleted from storage shortly afterwards. Nothing is opened, read or reviewed by a person, and nothing is kept beyond the session.

Because the work happens on a server rather than in your browser, the tools behave the same on a phone as on a desktop, and a large document does not depend on how much memory your device has.

What the tools will and will not do

Each tool page explains its own limits, and we would rather say so plainly than have you find out after uploading. Compression works on the images inside a PDF, so a text-only document barely shrinks. Unlocking needs the password you already have — it is not password recovery. PDF to Word recovers your text but does not rebuild your layout. Converting a PDF to images makes it no longer searchable.

None of that is unique to this site; it is how the formats work. It is just worth knowing before you pick a tool rather than afterwards.

Limits

Individual files are capped at 20MB and a single request at 100MB, which covers the overwhelming majority of everyday documents. Larger files are usually best split first and handled in parts.
